Kiyana was born on April 11, 1979 in Queens New York. She began singing at the age of six with her older sister, singing songs written by their mother. like most young divas she sang in her church choir. But she later formed Shades of sweetness, a girl group with her older sister and two cousins. Kiyana quickly became a song writer, and began working as a solo artist leaving Shades of Sweetness behind, adding dancing, modeling and acting to her list of talents.
